Our Pune and New Delhi offices, which collectively comprise ZS’s Capability and Expertise Center, celebrated International Women’s Day by participating in a handful of March 8 activities organized by the Women’s Leadership Initiative.
In Pune, ZSers wore purple in support of justice and dignity for women, and gathered to watch Anne-Marie Slaughter’s popular TED Talk. In Can we all “have it all”?, Slaughter explains why shifts in work culture, public policy and social mores have the power to create equality for both men and women. Following the video, women ZSers shared personal stories about how they are “bold for change”, the 2017 International Women’s Day theme.
Crafts were on sale in support of Ishanya Foundation, which empowers women through several outreach programs in livelihood, health and education.
In New Delhi, female ZSers were welcomed with surprise gifts as they entered the office. A flea market was set up during the day with products ranging from clothing to home furnishings. The day ended on a sweet note with a commemorative cake-cutting.
Throughout the day, ZSers in both offices also had the opportunity to send pre-stamped thank you postcards to women who have made a positive difference in their life or career, part of a firm-wide initiative that all ZS’s office participated in.
