We’re always on campus in search of the best and brightest new ZSers and recently, a group of intrepid new joiners—coincidentally also recent college grads—came together to answer one mammoth question: How do we convey ZS’s growing business, great people and unique culture to campus recruits in India?
The ZS Campus Beats program enlisted the help of young associates and associate consultants who formed teams representing the college they graduated from. Together, those teams tapped their past experiences to determine the best ways to engage with students who were currently attending their alma mater.
Each team had the chance to present a holistic business plan for engaging students at their college, including required resources and budget. The result of this collaboration was a palette of common approaches, plus custom tactics tailored to each college.
Since the April 2016 launch of Campus Beats in India, the adaptable program has helped us connect with thousands of talented recruits across 14 campuses. At each college, ZSers successfully engaged the students through three programs which were co-facilitated by more than 70 ZS alums:
- Finishing School Workshop: This three- to four-hour program helped students prepare for their placement season. It included sessions on industries and practices, what employers look for in the selection process and the importance of guesstimates.
- ZS Unplugged: This informal networking session for students and alums providing a platform asking questions, gaining role-related clarity and requesting candid feedback.
- Case Study Workshop and Contest: The one-hour workshop was aimed at effectively describing the concept of evaluation, best practices and ways to solve a case study. At some campuses, the workshop was followed by a team contest.
These events proved to be a great avenue for students to understand ZS as an organization and the different roles offered. They could also get face time with ZSers—and alums of their colleges—from different Capability Groups. Through our social media platforms, we engaged with the colleges we hire from and reached 100,000 students.
