Every year, ZS’s Women’s Leadership Initiative (WLI) – an affinity group dedicated to supporting women in building successful careers and fostering an inclusive environment – organizes local summits for women to come together to celebrate their successes, learn new skills and engage in actionable conversations around inclusion and diversity.
More than 600 ZSers attended this year’s events in New Delhi and Pune. New Delhi Principal and Capability and Expertise Center (CEC) Capability & Excellence Center (CEC) WLI Lead Apoorva also attended both events to talk about ZS’s ongoing initiatives focused on the hiring, engagement and retention of women with the ambitious objective of attaining equal gender representation.
Pune Women Believe in Balance
The Pune WLI summit centered around the theme “balance for better”, which was also leveraged throughout our global International Women’s Day celebration.
Asia Regional Managing Principal Sanjay commenced the summit by sharing his belief that everyone plays an important role in nurturing our inclusive work environment. He also welcomed the families who were invited to celebrate the amazing work the women in their lives are doing to make ZS a great place to work.
Through a panel discussion, women leaders and male allies drew from their experiences and shared stories, which sparked conversations to help women ZSers find balance between their career ambitions and personal lives.
Guest speaker Vandana Saxena Poria, an OBE, TEDx speaker and chartered accountant, spoke about the multiple facets of work and personal life and how women can strike a workable balance between the two by setting obtainable goals and effectively prioritizing the non-negotiable aspects of their lives.
New Delhi Women Inspire to Innovate
The New Delhi summit was all about innovating yourself. As New Delhi Office Managing Principal Mohit kicked off the event, he encouraged participants to break free from what is limiting your learning and potential, define your own path and do what works best for you.
External coaches from MindOpeners and Growing Leadership of Women (GLOW) led engaging sessions that covered multiple topics, such as courageous conversations, building your personal brand, building relationship presence and networking for success.
The day came to an end with an enriching storytelling session where managers spoke about the women on their teams who successfully and continually maintain a balance between their work and personal lives while simultaneously making an impact for ZS – with their spouses in the audience to witness firsthand the value their wives add to our firm.
