Kelly—and Her Daughter—Find All of the Support They Need at ZS

Posted by ZS on Sep 20, 2017 1:00:00 PM

I’m motivated to champion ZS’s goal to deliver impact where it matters most. Whether that means helping my clients address issues and opportunities that can impact their businesses, offering career advice and coaching, and helping to remove barriers to growth for my fellow ZSers. The Women’s Leadership Initiative (WLI) supports me with all of that and more.

ZS Helps Working Mom to Do What She Loves

Posted by ZS on Sep 11, 2017 1:00:00 PM

At ZS, our work is collaborative and oriented toward solutions and innovations. That’s why I love it so much. Being a working mom, I like to compare work at ZS to the playground my kids go to every day: All ZSers are sitting in a sandbox, working together to build the coolest sand castle you could imagine. The Women’s Leadership Initiative (WLI) at ZS helps make that freely innovative environment possible.

I’m somewhat biased toward the Women’s Leadership Initiative given that I’m a part of WLI’s core team, but it’s true: The WLI helps women at ZS build successful careers. For example, ZS’s flexible work philosophy that allows all of us to combine work life and home life for the best of both worlds was put in place by the WLI. The women that make up the WLI are phenomenal. From very junior members to top leaders of our firm, everyone in the WLI has been an inspiration to me and reaffirms that what I’m doing in my career is the right thing to do.

Namita’s path from politics to principal

Posted by ZS on Aug 17, 2017 10:00:00 AM

One day, 20-year-old Namita picked up the phone, called the White House and confidently asked to speak with someone on the President’s Council of Economics. To her surprise, she was transferred to an intern advisor. The unpaid internship she landed led to a fulltime position after she graduated from college, and her experience, she says, is what ultimately led her to ZS.

Hoping to find a broader business application for her skills beyond government, Namita began attending business school at Duke University and discovered consulting. When she asked fellow MBA candidates where they had interned, a number of them said ZS. “I remember thinking ‘I really like all these ZS people. I need to know more about this company!’,” she said.

After 20 Years, Jeanne Found Career Freedom at ZS

Posted by ZS on Aug 10, 2017 11:00:00 AM

I joined ZS as a principal two years ago, and it has been one of the best career decisions I’ve made. It was ZS's entrepreneurial spirit that drew me in. I told ZS what I wanted to do and the team said, “Great. How can we help?” I was given the freedom to chart my own path and build a practice—all focused on the things I love to do.

What I've realized since joining, however, is that ZS's culture is so much more than just entrepreneurial. Having worked in consulting for the past 20 years, I know when I’ve found a place that’s truly supportive and collaborative. ZS has a spirit of collaboration with no parallel. In lots of ways, I'm doing similar work to what I've done in the past, but it's the internal piece that’s really different. At other firms, I’ve felt that we were always on our own, working to bring in business and deliver it. It was a race for revenue. Here it's completely different. It's highly supportive and collaborative, and we’re all genuinely focused on doing the right thing.
