Tokyo Principal Akihiro’s Japanese Journey

Fourteen years ago, Principal Akihiro—known as Aki to his family and friends—was interviewing for his very first job. As chance would have it, ZS was also in the early stages of launching its Tokyo office. The rest is history.

Early in his career, Aki began working on sales analytics projects, eventually expanding his scope to include market research, forecasting and incentive compensation operations. He worked with a variety of companies across different geographies, focusing primarily on Japanese pharmaceutical clients.

Aki was elected principal last month, and he’s looking forward to the next phase of his ZS journey as we begin growing our presence in other parts of Japan, including Osaka.

It was 2005 and San Francisco Principal Ammar was fresh out of school. He’d been studying engineering for several years—first in India for undergrad, and later at Texas A&M for his masters. His course work included operations research, which led him to a consulting career at ZS’s Evanston office.

Ammar started working on core sales operations projects such as sizing and structure, and gained exposure to seven or eight clients before initiating a transfer to California. His relocation--later described as the first pivotal point in his career--was not a strategic career move, but a personal decision.

Joe first connected with ZS by chance at a career fair for Japanese-English bilinguals in Boston in 2006.  At the time, Joe’s work experience was at technology-related companies, and he'd never even considered a career in consulting.  However, he found himself intrigued by the kinds of problems ZS solves.
