The ZS Cares teams in Evanston and Chicago organized two events to support the SUDC Foundation, an organization dedicated to increasing awareness around sudden, unexpected deaths in children, and funding crucial research for preventing them.
The cause was close to many ZSers’ hearts as they spent a Friday evening in the Evanston office stuffing teddy bears in honor of Julian, the son of Market Research Support Manager Estuardo who passed away unexpectedly last year. The event gave ZSers the opportunity donate to the nonprofit and create cuddly, comforting pals for children who have lost siblings due to sudden unexpected deaths.
Following the Evanston event, ZSers in Chicago stuffed even more teddy bears during an afternoon break in the office.
“While the firm supports many nonprofit organizations through ZS Cares, it’s a good feeling to rally behind a cause helping someone we personally know and see every day,” said Mary Ann, an organizer for ZS Cares and an Evanston-based administrative manager.
Earlier in the fall, Evanston ZSers joined Estuardo’s family at the Willow House’s Walk to Remember and 5K Run for Hope to support families grieving the loss of their children. The event celebrated the lives of children lost and aimed to give hope and a sense of community to affected families so they do not feel alone in their grief.
