New Delhi Principal Manish worked for multiple firms in technology consulting and product development before joining ZS as a Business Technology (BT) manager in 2013. Early on, he began tackling projects and developing assets for ZS’s customer-centric marketing solution, however, during his six years with ZS, Manish has been able to explore new areas and technologies within the firm.
“I’m someone who always wants to learn new things,” said Manish. “Having the flexibility to move around has helped me challenge myself and ensure I’m developing the best solutions for our clients.”
Manish helped establish a program with ZS’s largest BT client three years ago, which is still his primary account today. Manish also leads the Strategy and Architecture sub-track within BT where he is focused on advancing the technological solutions ZS delivers to clients.
What excites you most about the future of our firm, and how do you see yourself contributing to our growth in the coming years?
I’m excited about the work we’re doing to maintain our firm’s culture and drive innovation—two things that are foundational to everything that we do at ZS. As we continue to grow, we must make sure to embody our culture every day and transfer these values to the next generation of ZSers. Innovation is especially important to my work with technology and, as we move toward the future, we need to continuously challenge ourselves and encourage our teams to think beyond conventional solutions to find new, effective solutions for client problems.
Describe your “perfect ZS day”.
Aside from my regular day-to-day meetings and responsibilities, my perfect ZS day would include time brainstorming with my team to solve a business or technology challenge. I would also set aside time to have one-on-one discussions with my clients to learn more about their current or future business objectives and figure out how ZS can help. After that, I’d have one-on-one conversations with my team members and PD reports about their career path. Finally, I would spend some time learning about emerging technologies and upcoming business and market trends.
What’s your life like outside ZS?
My wife Shelly works for an IT services firm. Together we have two kids—a son, Kriday, who is 11 and a daughter, Prisha, who is seven. Weekdays are busy with work, but I always see my kids off to school before heading to the office. My wife takes care of most of the work at home which helps me manage my home and work lives. On the weekends, I make sure to spend as much time with my family as possible and we usually plan an evening out each weekend. When I have time, I also love getting together with a group of ZSers to play badminton.
When you move on from ZS to the next chapter of your life story, what do you want people to remember about you?
That time is quite a long time from now, but I think I want to be remembered as a people person who was honest and sincere in helping others. I’d also like to be known as someone who loved technology and was a trusted advisor to his team and clients.
