I was able to hit the ground running during my internship at ZS’s London office after a comprehensive and thoughtful onboarding process, where I learned all about ZS and had plenty of opportunities to meet ZS leaders and teammates throughout the office through meetings, informal lunches and planned social events.
I spent the summer working with the Medical Products and Services (MPS) team on two different client projects. Though the work has been challenging, through the support of my team, I’ve learned so much about what goes on behind-the-scene to analyze a customer’s situation and tailor the right solution. I even had the opportunity attend client meetings, where my team empowered me to share my inputs and perspectives.
Throughout the summer, there were a variety of events that helped the interns connect with ZSers outside of work. One of my favorite outings was when we “unplugged” from work and spent the day in the countryside with a friendly field game competition. Even though my team didn’t win, we had a great time competing, working together and getting to know one another.
Another memorable experience was participating in the London Pride Parade with Pride@ZS, ZS’s affinity group for LGBTQ ZSers and allies that promotes diversity and inclusiveness at work and beyond through education, social events and community outreach. It was the first time the London office participated, and a few ZSers from the Frankfurt and Evanston offices even joined us for the special occasion. I’ll never forget dancing through the streets with my fellow ZSers for a cause that so close to our hearts.
I had such a special experience interning with ZS. The firm is full of bright people who are always willing to help each other out and spend time together when the work is done, and it was a truly great place to spend my summer.
Andrew is an MBA candidate at the IESE Business School in Barcelona. This summer, he interned at ZS’s London office.
