While a lot has changed since Boston ZSer Christina was named to Consulting magazine’s Rising Stars of the Profession list in 2017—such as her recent election to principal—one theme has remained constant throughout her ZS career: healthcare.
It’s a passion is that led her to pursue her MBA and master’s in public health, and ultimately what led her to ZS in 2014. Since joining five years ago, Christina has worked in oncology and become the leader of our biosimilars vertical. Today, she primarily works with clients who are preparing to launch products in the oncology and biosimilars markets.
“By developing expertise within oncology and biosimilars, I’ve had the opportunity to lend my knowledge to a really diverse set of clients and ZS teams,” said Christina. “That variety is one of my favorite things about my job.”
Now that we discussed what you do, let’s get to “the why”. How does ZS’s Core Purpose resonate with you?
So many elements of our Core Purpose resonate with me. Unstructured problem solving goes hand-in-hand with my business consulting role, which is fun. On the other hand though, it means the path to the answer isn’t always clear. That’s why it’s not always about the steps you take to get there; it’s about the way you work with your clients. The way you engage various stakeholders, and the experience you create.
And finally, when I think about helping our customers thrive, I instantly think of healthcare, as that’s where I’ve focused my entire career—both here at ZS, and prior to joining. I feel like through the work I’m doing with my clients, I’m playing a small part in making care more value-driven and accessible to patients—especially those with cancer and other chronic diseases.
What hashtag best describes your ZS career?
It’s a two-part hashtag: #alwaysachallenge #butinthebestway
What’s your life like outside ZS, and how do you balance it with your career?
My husband, Daniel, has been with me throughout my entire consulting career, so he has a true understanding of our business, the kind of work we do and how unpredictable it can be—but also how much joy it brings me. He has a demanding job running a small company, so when we can get away for the weekend, we really try to truly disconnect. We love going to Cape Cod and inviting family and friends to meet us there. We spend a lot of time being active, entertaining or cooking together.
