ZSers improve summer for local youth through pro bono consulting and volunteering

As part of our global world-positive ZS Cares program, Strategy Insights & Planning Associate Ross and a team of San Francisco ZSers dedicated their time and consulting skills to help Camp Phoenix, a transformative new summer camp that empowers underprivileged middle schoolers through academics and outdoor exploration to promote personal growth and development of leadership skills.

Camp Phoenix’s goals were simple: To serve more students, expand and diversify their donor mix and ultimately amplify the impact they made on their local communities.

ZS’s West Coast interns bond over surf, sand and food

While the ZS office in Los Angeles may have been closed for the Fourth of July weekend, it didn’t stop ZS’s West Coast interns from jumping right back into work and some quality time together when it reopened.

The three-day work week started with a session dedicated to improving our presentation and speaking skills. We recorded ourselves so we could visualize our styles. Despite tons of laughter while watching the playback, we all learned valuable techniques and skills from some of the consultants.

On May 17, ZSers joined people, companies and policy makers in more than 120 countries around the world in celebration of International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia (IDAHOT), an annual event that brings attention to the discrimination and violence LGBTQ people still face, recognizes advancements in LGBTQ equality and promotes human rights for all.

To mark the occasion, [email protected], our LGBTQ- and ally- resource group dedicated to cultivating a supportive and inclusive environment, encouraged ZSers to show their support by wearing pink and hosted events centered on freedom, diversity and acceptance at many of our global offices.

Bay Area ZSers love to treat each other right

Bay Area ZSers recently took advantage of not one but two occasions to spread a little love and treat each other right, one of the three core values we live by.

In what has become an annual San Francisco tradition, ZSers used February 14 as an opportunity to thank one another for their hard work. This year, over 1,400 “Valentine’s grams” filled with candy and personalized notes circulated both our Bay Area locations!

On March 8, the office also celebrated International Women's Day by partnering with the ZS Women's Leadership Initiative (WLI). The office donated over 200 books to Room to Read, an organization that helps bring education to the next generation of female leaders.
