From kayaking to "brown bags," one Chicago intern reflects on a summer full of new experiences

Two paddles splashed through the water, the curved blades mirroring each other’s motion. Left…right...left…right.

I sat behind Jake, my mentor, in a bright green two-person kayak. We worked together to travel swiftly through the water while taking in the sights around us.

On this particular day, ZS’s Midwest interns and their mentors were taking a break from their typical project work to spend an afternoon on the Chicago River getting a guided tour of the city’s history and iconic architecture.

Chicago ZS Cares team helps local school get student-ready

ZSers in the Chicago office recently wrapped up the summer by organizing a ZS Cares service day. Our global corporate social responsibility program encourages ZSers to harness their unique passions and skills to make a positive different in their communities.

ZSers visited St. Helen School with the Big Shoulders Fund, a nonprofit dedicated to providing support to schools in the neediest areas of Chicago, to paint, organize, clean and get the school “student-ready” in preparation for the upcoming academic year.
