A group of ZSers from the firm’s New York City office recently helped clean up the Xavier Mission’s soup kitchen after its weekly Welcome Table, a program that distributes meals to local people in need. On this Sunday, Welcome Table served more than 1,600 meals!
The ZS team joined other volunteers in sweeping and mopping the facility’s floors, wiping tables and chairs and washing serving trays. Due to help from volunteers each week, the St. Francis Xavier Church is able to allocate all of the money it raises towards the food served to Welcome Table guests.
The clean-up process was completed earlier than usual this week due to a clever solution to a tray washing bottle neck presented by quick-thinking ZSer Anna.
The volunteering activity ended up being a great afternoon of ZS values in action through ZS Cares.
